Who Hash

The current favorite for second breakfast around our house is Who Hash. Second breakfast is the meal you eat after you come in from the morning hunt.

Take a can of corned beef hash and one pound of venison breakfast sausage. Mix together thoroughly in a cast iron skillet, and season to taste with cajun seasoning, or whatever you prefer. Put it in the oven at 400F until done-- usually about a half hour. About half way through, pull off a few tablespoons of grease and use to make white gravy. Stir everything up really well and put it back to cook. You will know when it is done, because it'll get a little crusty. Top with shredded cheese and cover for 5 minutes after you've pulled it out of the oven for the last time.

We call it Who Hash, because we sit around and try to guess who it came from:

"Is this the big buck from last year?"

"Nope, it's that old doe we pulled out of the bottoms."
