What's up with this?

The other day Mom and I were talking on the phone. She heard the car alarm go off in the garage, and told me she'd call me back. She called back later with a fantastic story.

It seems that when she got out to the garage, there was a doe and her fawn in the driveway, looking like they had just left the garage. Mom used the remote to stop the horn from honking. About this time, Dad came around from the back yard and spied the deer. He tried to shoo them by yelling and throwing a plastic jug at the larger one. They walked down the driveway a piece and then turned back. The larger doe stood there and blaated at Dad, before walking off.

1) What the heck were those deer doing in a garage?
2) How the heck did they get the car alarm to go off?
3) What's up with the back talk?

Dad told me that "She told me off." I ran through the repertoire of deer vocalizations. It was not a snort or a snort-wheeze. What he described was 5 repetitions of a contact bleat.

Dad and I both live in the same neighborhood. It's a suburb just over the line from Cincinnati. The deer are as tame as can be. however, this was odd even by those rules.
