I'm waiting for confirmation of this in the papers, but I heard a 6x6 bull elk was seen near the corner of SR 10 and SR 22 in Bracken County, heading for Brooksville. He was toes-up in the back of a pickup, the head and antlers were hanging over the tailgate and the back hooves were draped out over the front of the bed. This sighting came from a hunter, hunting the adjoining property on Saturday morning (11/20) shortly before Noon.
As you may remember, I was the guy who had two encounters with elk in September at the farm in SW Bracken County:
The Stuff of Dreams
More Stuff of Dreams
This leaves me wondering if that big boy in the pickup might have been the one I heard sounding off that night.
Just remember: you heard it here first.
